When you work with self-made entrepreneurs and their families, wealth is never just about numbers. It’s about purpose. Six Degrees was founded by Katherine Waller and Ollie Saiman to help clients align their financial strategies with the values that built their success.
For them, transparency, alignment and a clear sense of purpose are essential parts of the relationship. But delivering that clarity requires technology that mirrors those same principles. Clients with between £3m and £50m of investable assets expect to see their entire financial world at a glance, not just isolated snapshots.
A transparent client experience
Six Degrees chose Moneyinfo because it offered exactly that: a complete, secure and seamless digital experience. Integrated with Transact, the app and desktop portal give clients a single, real-time view of their portfolios, investments and important documents.
As Ollie explains, “Seeing part of someone’s wealth in isolation is effectively useless. You need to see the whole picture, and Moneyinfo were the only portal for us that could deliver that to clients and deliver that experience.”
From the very start, the implementation journey was clear and collaborative. Katherine says “From start to finish, we had a person who really helped us. There was a dashboard set up where you literally go through and tick each bit off, and that gets you to a point where you’ve got the app. It’s seamless, it’s swift.”
Katherine continues: “We’ve worked in large institutions where we’ve been talking about having an app for years, and this took us six weeks from start to finish. It was exceptional.”
Branding and trust, perfectly aligned
For Six Degrees, brand identity is an expression of their purpose-led philosophy. The ability to create a client experience that looked and felt like an extension of their own website was crucial.
Ollie explains: “The branding journey was very important for us to get right, both for the business and with the partners that we used. We felt looking at lots of providers that Moneyinfo ticked all the boxes that we required and our clients needed.”
That consistency builds trust. Over 80% of Six Degrees’ clients now log in regularly to their app, a powerful signal of engagement for a wealth manager whose clients value independence and discretion. Katherine continues, “Over 80% of our clients regularly log in to the Moneyinfo app. At the start of the journey with the client, we know that we want to be able to give them that opportunity to see all their assets in one place, and that’s something they don’t receive in other places.”
A vault clients actually use
The Moneyinfo vault has become central to how clients manage their day-to-day lives. Katherine states from ID verification and wills to insurance documents and tax records, families use Moneyinfo as their secure hub. “They love the vault. We upload their ID, their verification of address. They can go in and pick up a passport or driver’s licence should they need to. They love being able to have their life insurance, their wills, and upload tax information for their accountants. It’s become a fundamental part of how they use it on an everyday basis.”
Raising expectations
Ollie remarks that when new clients see the app during onboarding, they’re often impressed by how advanced and intuitive it is. “Our competitors in the market are the big global wealth managers and private banks, and the technology that these providers use is famously quite suboptimal because they tend to try and do it in-house, and they’re not tech providers. When we roll out the app or show a demo during a prospect meeting, they’re frankly blown away by the level of transparency that the app provides. It’s something they haven’t encountered before.”
Six Degrees has built a reputation for simplifying complexity. Their philosophy is simple: keep it secure, keep it human, and keep it focused on purpose. Katherine explains that in this industry, we can be forgiven for overcomplicating things sometimes. “The key for us from the very start was keep it simple, keep it secure, and ensure that we’re meeting the needs of our clients to partner with them to make their purpose the heart of the wealth conversation.”
Blending human and digital
Ollie concludes: “We talk a lot in this industry about the benefit of being hybrid, being in-person and human, but also using technology to enable the client experience. Moneyinfo allows us to do that really, really effectively. Whether you’re a huge wealth manager or a small two-person firm, using Moneyinfo to enable that client experience is, in our opinion, a complete no-brainer.”
Whether you’re a two-person firm or a global wealth manager, the principle remains the same: a technology that empowers purpose-led advice and builds trust is a technology worth investing in.
